AquaQ sponsored and hosted it’s first ever Java User Group Meet-up at Clock Wise at River House in Belfast on 5th Sept 2019. The guest speaker on the night was Matt Riable (Java Champion and Developer Advocate at Okta) and the event was attended by 65 Java enthusiasts.

As microservice architecture has become commonplace for many java projects in recent years, Matt’s talk called “Microservices for the Masses…”, was aimed at making it easy for anyone to spin up a full web application microservice project in 30mins.

Matt leveraged the power of JHipster in order to achieve a fully secure CRUD web application, consisting of a few microservices and user interface. He gave many tips and tricks on how to develop microservices and demonstrated the power of JHipster to help achieve your desired goals, he showed how to easily replace your identity provider within an application simply by changing a few lines of config. He also spent the end of the talk showing how to spin up mobile applications using JHipster with Ionic.

Great night had by all and we look forward to seeing what new features the JHipster team can add in near future.
