Belfast-based IT award-winning company have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Financial Accountant to join their team. Working with the senior management team, the role will offer the successful Accountant a working environment to advance their career.

The purpose of this role is to prepare and analyse monthly management accounts, preparation of budgets and the provision of financial & costing information and advice to the Directors. Responsibility for the key financial processes to include sales invoicing and payroll.

The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:

  • Input of source financial information (sales and purchase ledgers)
  • Preparation and filing of payroll
  • Bank reconciliations and all other ledger reconciliations
  • Prepare and analyse management accounts (monthly, quarterly)
  • Preparation of budgets & forecasts (to include financial reporting and cashflows)
  • Timely reporting of work in progress and associated accounting/billing
  • Identification of key risks and development of controls
  • Streamlining of existing reporting processes

The successful candidate should have the following skills & qualifications:

  • Must be a Fully Qualified Accountant
  • 3+ years experience working in a busy Finance team
  • Experience and in-depth understanding of work in progress within a service environment and the accounting thereof
  • Experience in the maintenance of all ledgers
  • Experience in the processing and management of payroll
  • Proven ability to prepare month end reporting
  • Proven ability in the preparation of budgets, cashflow projections and variance analysis
  • A good working knowledge of accounting standards corporation tax, income tax, VAT would be advantageous, but not essential
  • Must be competent with the Microsoft Office Suite as well as being proficient in the use of accounting and payroll software (Sage being desirable)
  • Must be highly organised with the ability to work well within tight deadlines
